Quality used concrete equipment saves you money

Purchasing used concrete equipment will help get you started while keeping your budget down. A concrete mixer is advantageous when a whole truckload of concrete is not needed. In your search for this piece of used concrete equipment, things to note are that it has a wide mouth for discharge, rugged and reliable drives and if possible, fatigue resistant main gear.

Sometimes you may need a substantial amount of concrete for slabs that require trucks to deliver the load. Line concrete pumps are great for distributing material to areas where concrete would normally have to be raked into place by workers. Up to twenty feet of hose can stretch to where your pouring needs to be done. One of the biggest advantages of having a pump is that you can pour during the winter months because the process is sped up so you can smooth and dry before the evening cold sets in.

In searching for concrete equipment, the concrete pump is one of the most important items you can add to your assets. Allowing your crew to quickly distribute the concrete at a fast pace saves labor and time. Easy to operate and capable of spotting, where and when needed, adds diversity to the different types of jobs that you can offer.

are needed when areas need to be cut out of existing concrete, stone or brick. Large rig mounted units can be purchased as can hand held models depending on the need. Overload indicator and a level bubble for angle cutting are two important features to look for when searching used concrete equipment for core drills.

On a much larger scale, transit mixer trucks can be very costly, $150,000 and up. This is definitely one type of used concrete equipment that can be purchased at a far lesser price. Because of the substantial depreciation of these hard driven trucks, a ten-year-old front discharge unit can often be picked up for less than half of this cost. Read discharge units are more readily found and at an even lower price than the front discharge units.

Concrete vibrators are made to either fit on a truck or to be hand held. Designed to fill-in air voids of the concrete, there are two basic types. A surface pan vibrator will ride over the surface of the pavement while an internal vibrator, also called spuds, is immersed into the concrete. Equipment of this nature should have some type of guarantee on the motor, as this is the major part of the vibrator.

Another type of concrete equipment that may be necessary is the concrete saw that makes the proper width and depth of aligned cuts to the joints. This is a large walk behind unit that many times has headlights so work can be done at night.

Once you start looking into concrete equipment, you will see the savings that can be made on small or large units. Many times construction companies will trade in their old equipment on new. Their old units have usually been serviced regularly by their own mechanics in order to be readily available for new contracts. You can also find companies that have purchased used concrete equipment and refurbished so every part has been cleaned and worn parts replaced.

Auctions can be a way to gather lots of equipment at one time as long as you realize that there will be some maintenance that will need to be done. Dealing with reputable companies whose business it is to handle specified pre-owned concrete equipment will be the most confident way to purchase what you need for your company.
