Concrete Driveway Rebar

Q: How do I check if my contractor put rebar in my concrete driveway?

Dear Submitter:

There are a couple of options to consider in order to check to see whether your contractor put rebar in your concrete driveway:

You could have a contractor core drill some test holes in the slab to see if rebar is present.

If you would like to check your driveway yourself, you can use a Zircon Metal Sensor. It's a metal scanning tool that can locate metal(rebar) up to 6 inches (152 mm) deep in solid concrete.

Thanks for your question,

Alan
